Cooling fans

The 16-in (400-mm) high-performance cooling fan from SPAL Advanced Technologies, a leading manufacturer of axial radiator cooling fans, offers 2360 ft3/min (67,000 L/min) at 12 V while drawing just 21.6 A. The fan is 3.4 in (86 mm) from front to back and available in four models: as either a pusher or a puller fan with curved or straight blades. It is available in both 12- and 24-V models. SPAL offers fans from 4 to 16 in (100 to 400 mm) with a variety of performance and shroud options.

Nylon oil reservoir

Stanyl TW200F3 is a 4,6 nylon from DSM Engineering Plastics that is used for the oil reservoir on 2002 Polaris Industries' Sportsman 400 and 500 H.O. ATVs. Replacing die-cast aluminum with Stanyl resulted in a 51% weight reduction and an improved performance-to-cost ratio in hot oil applications up to 300°F (149°C). The nylon component, which is mounted to the exterior of the vehicle, offers high-impact resistance and stiffness, maintaining property retention after 5000 h of exposure to hot oil and thermal cycling.

Haul-truck tire

The X-Haul from Michelin Earthmover is manufactured with a square shoulder and reinforced sidewalls for enhanced protection in severe operating conditions. The tread's unbroken central lug allows the machine to provide optimum performance when traction and speed requirements change. The open tread design and rubber compound help provide cool running and allow for improved speed without compromising durability and tire life.

Fan specification sheets

The Multi-Wing Z Series fan product sheets from Crowley Co. detail product features, applications, specifications, blade dimensions and materials, choices, design matrix, and selection guide. The fans are for air-moving applications in HVAC, cooling towers, industrial motors, air-cooled condensers, generators, compressors, heat exchangers, and locomotives. The fans feature a modular design for flexibility in application-specific solutions.

Loader tire

The Stone Gard RT-3B from Goodyear is a new radial rock traction tire designed specifically for loaders, articulated trucks, and graders. The tire's all-steel construction resists heat build-up while resisting rock cuts and penetration. A wide tread width improves traction and mobility for a more stable ride. Its uniform footprint and deep tread grooves contribute to a longer, more even wear, with its rounded groove angles allowing for a low stone retention in the tread. The tires will be available initially in 20.5R25, 23.5R25, and 26.5R25.
