High-output bearings

Precision needle rollers and shafts are produced on RBC Bearings' roller production process at its Bremen Bearings operation. Improved roller technology is enabling the company's products to meet demanding precision applications, such as the latest power transmission systems. Other ap-plications include planetary gearsets, clutches, gearboxes, steering columns, dowel pins, hinge pins, motor shafts, and small engines. The roller production process involves grinding technology and a cellular manufacturing approach that results in an increased output of needle rollers, pins, and shafts with exacting precision, according to the company. Roller diameter tolerances can be held to 0.0001 in (0.002 mm) or better and surface finishes to 8 in (200 mm) or lower. Products range in size from 0.045 to 0.5 in (1.14 to 12.7 mm) diameter and from 0.1 to 3.5 in (2.54 to 89.0 mm) in length.
