Hybrid controller

Motorola, Inc.'s 56F8300 hybrid controller series integrates signal processing, fast Flash memory, and clock speed into a 16-bit package, allowing industrial designers to use the devices in applications previously considered the domain of 32-bit microcontrollers. The series executes code from a third-generation Flash at up to 60 million instructions/s without using acceleration technology, and improved I/O capability provides additional design flexibility. The 56F8300 was created to withstand harsh environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures, heavy debris, and abrasive movements such as vibration and shock. Extended temperature capabilities enable the first six devices in the series to operate at a range of -40 to +125°C (-40 to +257°F).
