Handheld engine monitor
Caterpillar’s Pocket Tec enables operators to access real-time engine data using a Palm handheld organizer. The software is easy to install, and the plug-in adapter allows direct communication with an engine’s electronic controls. Information can be saved and downloaded to a computer for more efficient asset management. Cat has identified three primary markets for the tool. Pocket Tec for industrial applications provides technicians, site managers, and equipment owners an affordable means to manage their equipment more effectively. Pocket Tec for heavy-duty vehicles provides data useful for tracking all electronically controlled engines and managing the maintenance of the entire fleet. Pocket Tec for marine provides owners an affordable means to manage engines more effectively.
