Remote valve controls

Three remote valve controls from Wescon Products Co. are used to actuate valves on heavy-duty and off-road vehicles. Two of the units are made of high-strength, composite materials from the aircraft industry. In durability tests, these units exceeded one million cycles of operation with 45 kg (100 lb) input load, showing no appreciable wear on the components.

Nylon hose couplers

Glass-filled-polypropylene and -nylon hose couplers and adapters from FluidProductsOnline are constructed with stainless steel handles and retaining pins. These materials provide high strength and durability for industrial and commercial applications. A complete selection of pipe thread and hose shank fittings is available, all with cam lock connections. Sizes range from 6.3 mm (0.25 in) through 100 mm (4 in). Glass-filled polypropylene offers chemical resistance to most acids and has a normal operating range from -12 to +82°C (10 to 180°F) and maximum working pressure of 862 kPa (125 psi) at 21°C (70°F).

Centrifugal pump with double-volute case

Berkeley Pumps' line of B6XT centrifugal pumps feature precise case geometry, improved hydraulic efficiency, a broad performance range, and reduced bearing loads. These pumps are suited for high-volume irrigation applications. An extra-wide performance range extends to 13,250 L/min (3500 gal/min). The pump's design uses double-row, angular contact and deep grooved radial ball bearings that deliver 20,000 h of life. A rigidly supported thrust bearing extends dependability with minimal maintenance.

High-pressure inline filter

Fluid Line Products' Anti Blocker in-line filter protects sensitive and expensive control mechanisms in hydraulic systems operating at high pressure. The filter element is easily replaceable and cleanable to maintain a constant bi-directional flow. Made of zinc-plated steel, the filter has a micron rating of 50 and 120 nominal. Its temperature range is -40 to +121°C (-40 to +250°F), and it is vibration and shock resistant. The working and collapse pressure range are 0 to 41.4 MPa (0 to 6000 psi) with flow capacity of 0 to 380 L/min (0 to 100 gal/min).

Hydraulic product line CD-ROM

Readable by either PC or MAC computers, Donaldson Co.'s CD, which features its product line and cross reference catalogs, contains files in Adobe's portable file document format (PDF) that can be read on any computer with Adobe's Acrobat Reader software. A sampling of the product lines featured on the CD-ROM includes hydraulic filters, the Duramax high-pressure spin-on, and upgrade/replacement filter elements. Common installations include hydraulic machinery and power units that are self-contained hydraulic pressure generators driving a variety of hydraulic machines and components.
