Robotic software packages

Lincoln Electric Co., teaming up with FANUC Robotics, offer software products to increase robotic capabilities in programming. WinOLPC is a robot program designed for FANUC SYSTEM R-J3 robots. PC File Services for Microsoft Windows NT is a software program that provides a network solution for robot file storage and management. The FANUC SYSTEM R-J3 controllers contain a built-in 10BaseT Ethernet port that offers advanced networking software tools to connect R-J3 controllers to other robots and remote computers. ARCworks PRO is a PC-based software package that acts as a production supervisor to maintain the highest level of throughput and quality of an arc welding system.

Shallow-depth workstations

CyberResearch Inc.'s SuperTrim STC series of shallow-depth industrial panel-mount PC workstations feature a sealed-display front panel that meets NEMA Type 4 standards. All three models feature TFT LCD displays designed to be readable in high ambient light and are available with a touchscreen. The STC 15 is a 15-in display, measuring 4.2-in deep; the STC 12 is multimedia-capable and is 4.1-in deep; and the STC 10 features a 10.4-in display.

CNC productivity tools

CimWorks MCS from GE Fanuc provides a comprehensive package of CNC operator station functions to increase productivity for end users and OEMs. The software provides production scheduling, electronic documentation, part program management, and production and productivity reporting. Linear displacement sensor

New linear displacement sensors from the Micro-Measurements Div. of Measurements Group, Inc. use fully active 350-ohm strain-gage bridges to sense spindle displacement, giving infinite resolution and good linearity. They are compatible with all standard strain-gage instrumentation with bridge excitation from 2-10 V. Models have full-scale ranges from 6.4 to 25.4 mm (0.25 to 1.0 in).

FLIR Systems' PM 695 automated infrared inspection system features both thermal and visual imaging capabilities. Ruggedly designed, the unit quickly records and stores temperature and analysis data, voice, and text comments along with thermal and visual images. Documenting results is automatic.

PLC to Ethernet connection

The VersaMax SE is a versatile programmable logic controller accessory that enables Ethernet connection via the serial port on the controller. The device complements GE Fanuc's line of controllers, including the recently released VersaMax Nano and VersaMax Micro controllers.
