Error 404--Not Found

From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.4.5 404 Not Found

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.

If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

Compound rotary table

HoleMaster Hole Driller EDM machines from Methods EDM are now available with fourth- and fifth-axis capabilities. An optional compound rotary table provides precise A- and B-axis positioning, extending the capabilities of HoleMaster machines to the submerged or nonsubmerged EDM drilling of angled holes and slots. Typical applications include cooling and/or exhaust gas holes in turbine rings and blades, electronic housings and components, laboratory and analytical equipment, optical instrumentation, and extrusion dies for glass and composite fibers.

Machine vision

Keyence Corp.'s CV-751 machine vision system employs shade scale technology to recognize differences in hue and density as shade levels more accurately than conventional monochrome systems, especially when colors are very similar. The system can also detect metal parts on similarly colored metal surfaces. The CV-751 uses an ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit)-based processor to perform 360°, high-speed image rotation as part of the pattern-matching process.

Die cast assembly

Fishercast offers its die cast assembly process to manufacturers who are assembling two or more components using one or more joining methods, including crimping, press fitting, shrink fitting, swaging, riveting, adhesive bonding, soldering, brazing, or welding. Pre-manufactured components in the assembly are usually eliminated. In the process, the parts are first positioned in their correct relationship by a custom-designed assembly tool. Molten metal, usually zinc alloy, is then injected under pressure into a cavity located at the intersection of the components. The injected metal solidifies in milliseconds, with the slight shrinkage of the metal forming a strong, permanent, mechanical lock on the components. Assembly tooling ensures dimensional accuracy and part-to-part consistency, producing a ready-to-use assembly requiring no secondary operations.

High-speed machining

Toyoda's latest 50-taper machining center offers cutting and positioning speeds up to 25% faster than comparable models, says the company. In the x and y axes, the HSP550 achieves 48,000 mm/min (1890 in/min) rapid traverse and cutting rates with low-friction linear guides, and in the z axis, 59,940 mm/min (2360 in/min). Special dowel-shaped roller bearings provide more surface contact than standard ball bearings, increasing rigidity up to three times that of other machines.

Rapid manufacturing

EOS GmbH's EOSINT P 380 plastics laser-sintering system provides more than 30% higher productivity and improved part quality over the previous-generation device. Integrated Process Chain Management with automatic powder feeding and a new sieving station provide for a high degree of automation and user friendliness. Both system and periphery are well equipped for integration into an industrial environment and are suited for rapid manufacturing.
