Hydrualic-pump tester

A four-color, four-page brochure from Webster Instruments details its FIK Series hydraulic-pump tester for mobile and industrial applications. Four models are available in flow ranges of 30, 60, 120, and 180 L/min (8, 16, 32, and 48 gal/min) at working pressures to 41,400 kPa (6000 psi). These all-mechanical testers do not require power and include a flowmeter, loading valve, 64-mm (2.5-in) liquid-filled pressure gage, and thermometer all housed in a rugged steel case with removable lid. The loading valve features the Webster-exclusive INTERPASS safety disc system, which internally bypasses overpressure oil through the valve, not externally.

Instrumentation recorder

R.C. Electronics is now offering "Read After Write Data Verification" as a standard feature on their DATAMAX instrumentation recorder, which combines the multitasking power of Windows NT with the high-speed disk access of a storage area network. By opening two Windows applications in the control software, one for recording and the other for real-time review, the software reads data from the disc file and displays what was actually saved to the disc as the date is being acquired and stored. Configuring off-the-shelf hardware enables easy, flexible optimization of data-acquisition speeds and display rates.

Air leak tester

ITI Qualitek's Model Q6000 air leak tester features multichannel synchronous and asynchronous testing. Up to four intelligent detector modules can be connected to the control unit for remote programming with up to 10 programs each. The control unit can be wall mounted up to 30 m (100 ft) from the detector modules; a graphical display screen shows test status and pressure profiles for each leak test.

Infrared noncontact thermometer

Raytek's ST20 Pro Infrared Noncontact Thermometer offers accurate readings in a compact and reliable design. The device has a user-selectable temperature range of -32 to +400°C (-25 to +950°F), a 500 ms reading response time, and a mass of 340 g (11 oz). The device can prevent downtime by permitting preventative and predictive maintenance via pointing, shooting, and reading temperature measurement.

Insulation and ground-connection testing

The Fluke 1520 MegOhmMeter combines insulation resistance testing, ac and dc voltage measurement, and a "Lo-Ohms" function in one rugged unit. The device is used for testing insulation in power system wiring and motor windings in addition to continuity and ground-connection testing. It provides insulation resistance testing up to 4000 Mohm with three output voltages—250, 500, and 1000 V—and ac and dc voltage measurement up to 600 V.
