Error 404--Not Found

From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.4.5 404 Not Found

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.

If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

CAN bus interface

HBM, Inc., now offers the ML71 CAN bus interface module for use with its MGCplus data-acquisition system. The ML71 searches for messages from selected devices on the CAN bus and stores them as if they were measurement data from a conventional transducer. It has two electrically isolated CAN interfaces, with a separate database assigned to each, that allows it to capture signals from two independent CAN buses. The ML71 can also send messages over the CAN bus, making it possible to trigger events such as activating a sensor or simulating an event over the CAN bus. Up to 10 messages can be sent at the touch of a button, or at regular intervals.

Web-based measurements

LabVIEW 6.1 builds on the Web capabilities of National Instruments' LabVIEW 6i by simplifying the creation of remote applications and integrating the new technologies for XML and wireless communications. With 6.1, engineers can instantly embed their application's front panel in a Web browser. Patent-pending, point-by-point analysis libraries increase application performance and enhance real-time response for engineers acquiring and processing data a single point at a time at relatively high speeds, such as in a closed-loop control application. The new version works with Windows XP and includes functions that increase fast Fourier transform analysis speed by as much as 10 times over 6i and 100 times over 5.1.

Brake dynamometers

Magtrol's hysteresis brake dynamometers are for testing in low to medium power ranges, maximum 14-kW intermittent duty. With a hysteresis braking system, the dynamometers do not require speed to create torque, providing a full motor ramp from free-run to locked rotor. Brake cooling is provided by convection (no external source), compressed air, or a dedicated blower, depending on the model. Other features include a ±0.25 to 0.5% full-scale accuracy; high repeatability; easy calibration; an optional encoder switch; and standard English, metric, or SI torque measurement options.

Heat flowmeters

The new HFM-201 heat flowmeter, manufactured by Kyoto Electronics Manufacturing (KEM) Co. and distributed by CSC Scientific Co., Inc., measures heat flow in industrial furnaces and manufacturing plants. They have a mass of less than 0.5 lb (0.23 kg) and can either run off of battery power for 80 h or be plugged in. The unit makes it possible to evaluate and manage thermal insulation, energy control, and the in/out balance of heat flow. It is available with optional data-capture software.

Fluid measurement

Dantec Dynamics' FlowMap System Hub boosts the scope and effectiveness of the company's Global Measurement solutions, which include Particle Image Velocimetry and Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence for basic research into turbulence phenomena during product design in aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, and combustion. FlowMap serves as the nucleus of Global Measurement and uses an open-system architecture for flexible configuration possibilities. Data acquisition can run in the system hub while the user processes results with a separate application PC. Multiple users can connect their PCs to the network through the system hub to provide data mobility and enhance lab productivity.
