Integrated laser cutting and bending cell

At its Shakopee, MN, fabrication plant Toro produces its most complex grass-cutting machinery—large gang mowers used primarily for golf courses and parks. Combining three CL-6 laser cutting centers and two 175-ton (160-t) Autoform CNC press brakes from Cincinnati, Inc., Toro's fabrication cell has contributed to lower costs on reel components by 20 to 30% and reduced outsourcing, while enhancing product development and manufacturability, according to Greg Loek, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Toro.
