Better cylinder welding from Image Industries

Image Industries has developed hydraulic ports that allow far quicker and stronger welds onto hydraulic cylinders compared with manual welding processes. The stud weldable ports can be welded to hydraulic cylinders in less than one second, compared with manual processes, which can take up to several minutes. This dramatic time reduction will help hydraulic cylinder manufacturers increase their productivity and cut costs. The ports are suited for hydraulic cylinder manufacturers serving the construction, farm, and other off-highway equipment industries.
The hydraulic ports also permit a stronger weld with less heat distortion of the cylinder. Improved structural strength is the result of a full cross-sectional weld, which reduces failures and leaks compared with typical manual welding around the perimeter. Heat distortion in the cylinder is minimized due to the fast welding time, which prevents heat buildup within the cylinder. With less cylinder distortion, finishing operations are minimized.
Image's stud weldable hydraulic ports are customizable to meet customer's specifications. Constructed of mild steel, they may be threaded internally or externally. Welding the ports onto the cylinders is performed using stud-welding equipment, available from Image in an array of handheld, robotic, or customized designs in 1200- or 2000-A, three-phase units.
