Dual-flow lube filters

Baldwin Filters' Vortex line includes three patent-pending dual-flow lube filters that will be used on Cummins ISM, IXS, and Series 600 engines. These filters provide improved engine protection during extended oil drain intervals, high idle time, and harsh operating conditions. SAE J1858 laboratory tests performed per Cummins Engineering Standard 10765 confirm the filters' ability in contaminant removal efficiency and holding capacity.

Air precleaner

The EX-80, a recent addition to BEST-EX, Inc.'s CENTRI Air Precleaner line, features a 200-mm (8-in) inlet and will service equipment with requirements of 27 to 45 m3/min (950 to 1600 ft3/min). The company's complete line of precleaners can handle equipment ranging from 1 to 45 m3/min (50 to 1600 ft3/min). Other benefits include lower restriction, longer filter life, higher efficiency, reduced operating costs, increased engine life and performance, maintenance-free operation, lightweight and low profile design, and easy installation.

Bite-type compression fittings

Designed for both hydraulic and pneumatic applications, Brennan Industries, Inc.'s bite-type steel compression fittings are available in 35 standard configurations and can be ordered in custom sizes and configurations. The fittings' compact size makes them suitable for work in confined spaces with no special tools required. The fittings are designed for working pressures up to 55 MPa (8000 psi) and are suited for indoor use and noncorrosive environments in OEM and MRO applications involving pressurized gases and fluids.

Shock-resistant hand-held computer

CTEC from Cleveland Test Equipment is a hand-held computer with the power of a standard PC but is completely sub-mersible, can withstand shock of 750 g, and is resistant to a variety of chemicals. The computer is based on an AMD SC410 66 MHz or 100 MHz processor with 32/64 Mb of RAM and a 6.4 Gb hard drive, expandable to 18 Gb. It can run Windows 3.2, 95, 98, DOS, NT, QNX, or LINUX operating systems and is suited for use in service industries such as gas, electricity, and water as well as for data logging, marine, and military use.

Induction scanner

Alpha Scanner from Commercial Induction, an HI TecMetal Group member company, is a four-station work center that features a water polymer quench and can be programmed to process one to four parts concurrently. It can scan pieces up to 610 mm (24 in) long and 150 mm (6 in) in diameter with case depths of 0.5 to 4.6 mm (0.020 to 0.180 in). Process parameters for the scanner are entered using an interface panel. Once data is entered and verified, it is stored in memory on a PLC or downloaded in a compatible PC for future reference and repeatability.

Hydraulic product line CD-ROM

Readable by either PC or MAC computers, Don-aldson Co.'s CD, which features its product line and cross reference catalogs, contains files in Adobe's portable file document format (PDF) that can be read on any computer with Adobe's Acrobat Reader software. A sampling of the product lines featured on the CD-ROM includes hydraulic filters, the Duramax high-pressure spin-on, and upgrade/replacement filter elements. Common installations include hydraulic machinery and power units that are self-contained hydraulic pressure generators driving a variety of hydraulic machines and components.
