High-load slide

Bimba's high-load Ultran slide is available in 27-mm (1 1/16-in) bore. The slide provides high load carrying capabilities within an Ultran Slide rodless cylinder. It incorporates a ball bearing system offering large load bearing capabilities with greater carriage precision. A rare earth magnet for high magnetic coupling strengths allows the unit to move larger loads at higher speeds and provides added safety.

Plasticized switches

Cole Hersee Co.'s plasticized switches for off-road applications are plastic-dipped to seal against water and environmental contaminants. The switches withstand rough handling, extreme weather conditions, and intense use. O-ring seals further exclude dirt and moisture; many are machined from brass and have silver contacts for long life.

Screw actuators

The Compac 300 and 1000 Series Acme screw actuators from Burr Engineering & Development Corp. deliver the same stroke, but with a shorter overall length. The 305-mm (12-in) stroke Compac 300 Torque Limiter model is less than 508 mm (20 in) long. The 300 models withstand a 454 kg (1000 lb) static load, moving loads up to 136 kg (300 lb), while the 1000 models withstand a 2270 kg (5000 lb) static load, moving loads up to 454 kg (1000 lb). Burr actuators feature die cast aluminum power heads and zinc-plated inner and outer tubes. An optional torque limiter or limit switch end of stroke operation is offered.

Low-g accelerometer

Kionix, Inc.'s KX100 low-g accelerometer features sensitivity and performance that ranks among the highest currently available from a mass-produced silicon-based inertial sensor. The unit provides a cost-effective solution to enhance and enable a variety of motion-based applications. It is suited to sensing static and dynamic acceleration, inclination/tilt, and vibration for use in automotive stability, braking, and navigation systems, as well as industrial preventive/predictive maintenance and platform leveling. The sensor takes advantage of a proprietary plasma micromachining process based on standardized semiconductor processing technology and equipment.

Gages and stampings

Tremont's products include precision gages and fixtures, tool and die-making/repair, production metal stampings, and special machinery. The firm's gage department builds CMM staging gages, complex variable SPC gages, and checking fixtures for all types of industries. It also builds and repairs dies and prototypes in-house.
