TFX Engine Technology's two- and four-stroke high-speed data-acquisition systems measure combustion, crankcase (two-stroke version), and intake/exhaust dynamic and average pressures, as well as engine speed and temperature. Pressure data is acquired at 1° intervals of engine crankshaft rotation for engine speeds ranging from idle to over 13,000 rpm. Data can be monitored or recorded to a PC hard drive. Applications range from small single-cylinder devices to large off-road industrial equipment.
Validyne Engineering's VDAS 200, 800, and 1500 data-acquisition systems record up to 300 channels of vehicle sensor inputs with 1000-V isolation and cold reference junc-tions on all channels. Cold cranking operation for supply voltages down to 5 V dc and resistance to temperatures from -40 to +85°C (-40 to +185°F) enable the VDAS to perform and deliver accurately in severe test conditions. A flexible, modular design lets users select from four types of modules: Voltage/Temperature, Strain Gauge, Frequency, and CAN vehicle bus interface.
Silver Cloud Manufacturing's proprietary DURALAN II high-performance contrast enhancement filters are easily incorporated into most flat panel displays for computers and other instruments. Suited for use with LCD, vacuum fluorescent, electroluminescent, and plasma displays, the filters provide an added layer of protection against scratches and breakage. Designed for antiglare and maximum light transmission, the filters are available in a variety of standard and custom colors that enhance the contrast of the displayed image, making it easier to view and reducing eyestrain, headaches, and fatigue that are often associated with screen viewing.
Motor pump bearing wear caused by over-hung loading in timber handling and processing equipment can be eliminated using one of the large model Overhung Load Adaptors (OHLA) from Zero-Max, Inc. In timber equipment drivetrains, the OHLAs extend pump and motor bearing life by absorbing axial and radial stresses in their own bearings and mass. In the damp, corrosive environments of timber handling, these adaptors also protect the pump and motor shaft seal. Model 1500 provides a radial load capacity of up to 32,885 kg (72,500 lb) and absorbs potentially damaging vibration and stress at both input and output sides at speeds up to 2600 rpm.
Poclain Hydraulics' Dyna+ bearing support meets the braking needs of heavy vehicles traveling at higher speeds and in off-road applications. The brake's self-contained design eliminates component wear and performance degradation due to external contamination, and it eliminates maintenance requirements of brake shoes and pads. The multi-disc brake operates hydraulically both as a progressive service brake as well as a fail-safe parking brake and is cooled automatically during normal operation using the vehicle's hydraulic transmission oil.
