Dassault Systèmes‘ version 6.6 of ABAQUS FEA software features upgraded capabilities such as vibration analysis, automatic multi-level substructuring that extracts natural frequencies in large linear systems, and material-failure characterization with a laminate damage and failure model for layered composites. Analysts can represent the effects of bolt threads without creating detailed thread models. Other improved features include tire modeling, adaptive remeshing, postprocessing for nonlinear analysis, and computing performance. Open-system links to major CAD and CAE packages and technical innovations enable manufacturers to achieve realistic simulations of product behavior, according to the company, and accelerate the high-fidelity analysis process.
