ODP motor
WEG Electric Motors Corp. has redesigned its 56-frame ODP motor. The motor has an improved opposite-drive end-shield that allows 40% more airflow for better cooling. Cast aluminum reduces weight, and an autophoretic coating makes the motors resistant against corrosion. Applications include compressors, ventilators and fans, and farm applications.
Adjustable shim
Pinpoint Laser Systems' adjustable MicroShim aids in precision machine leveling, positioning, and mounting applications. The device provides height positions in increments of 0.0254 mm (0.001 in) over a range of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) for supporting machinery and equipment while providing high-load-bearing capacity. The shim can be permanently locked into place using a special bonding agent.
Proximity sensor
The MP1021 from Cherry Electrical Products is a solid-state magnetic proximity sensor that provides improved resistance to harsh environments with virtually unlimited life. The series is suitable for a wide range of OEM applications, including safety interlock, end-of-travel sensing, and motor speed control. The device allows the user to specify the sensing face.
Universal oven
Grieve's No. 891 is a modified, 260°C (500°F) electric universal oven that is used for heating tool cassettes. Work-space dimensions are 610 x 1524 x 610 mm (24 x 60 x 24 in). Nichrome wire heating elements of 6.6 kW provide the heat, while a 17,000 L/min (600 ft3/m) recirculating blower furnishes a universally patterned airflow to the workload. The oven features an aluminized steel exterior, Type 430 stainless-steel interior, and 102-mm (4-in) thick insulated walls, plus a silicone rubber door gasket and explosion-venting latches. A 227 kg (500 lb) capacity subway grating shelf along with seven angle iron shelf supports are also included.
Pressure sensors
Kavlico's pressure sensors for chassis system and powertrain applications include manifold absolute pressure, engine oil pressure, EGR differential pressure, combined pressure/temperature, transmission pressure, gasoline-direct-injection pressure, EVAP system pressure, power steering, natural gas fuel-system pressure, fuel rail, engine misfire, hydraulic brakes, catalytic converter pressure drop, climate control, and active suspension. The sensors use ceramic capacitive, MEMS, or piezoresistive technology, depending on the application criteria. Pressure ranges are available from 0.25 to 206,840 kPa (1 inH2O to 30,000 psi), gage absolute, differential, and combined pressure and temperature. The devices operate on a 5-V dc power supply and provide a 0.5- to 4.5-V dc output.
