Proportional valves

The 4WRAF, 4WREF, and 4-, 5-WRZF proportional valves from the Industrial Hydraulics division of Bosch Rexroth are controlled via a bus system. Functions include a separate connector for power supply and bus connection as well as versions for CAN bus with CANopen protocol and for Profibus DP. The valves also feature a valve for position; otherwise, a summated solenoid current is needed. The command value can be fed forward via the bus; for testing purposes, the value is available in analog form. A four-quadrant ramp generator, overlap compensation, and zero-point correction can be parameterized via the bus.

Large thread collars

Stafford Manufacturing Corp.'s large shaft collars are offered in one- and two-piece styles with different types of threads and O.D. treatments. The collars can be custom engineered with pitch diameters up to 12 in (305 mm) in UNC, UNF, Acme, or bearing lock-nut threads. Features include spanner wrenches holes or slots for spinning on a shaft, a knurled O.D., or face treatments to accommodate a bearing race. Available machined from steel and alloy steel, the shaft collars are suited for use with large compressors or line shafts in applications for heavy equipment used in the construction, trucking, marine, mining, petrochemical, power transmission, and railroad industries.

In-cylinder transducer

Control Products, Inc. (CPI) has expanded its existing line of SL Series in-cylinder linear position transducers with the SL300. The transducer is capable of sensing piston position for strokes up to 80 in (2032 mm) as opposed to the former model's 48-in (1219-mm) capability. Therefore, the SL300 can serve longer stroke applications in machines such as forklift trucks, large excavators, high-pressure accumulators, fire trucks, and manlifts. The sensors install inside ordinary hydraulic cylinders with minimal modifications and use non-contacting transduction means to avoid shock and vibration in the field.

Adjustable couplings

Lovejoy, Inc.'s series of rigid adjustable type couplings were designed for improved axial adjustment of impeller clearance in vertical pump installations. The RA/RAHS Series offers both close-coupled and spacer styles in standard (RA) and high-speed (RAHS) types. A center section can be removed to allow the impeller to lift out for maintenance without having to re-set the vertical clearance adjustment or without demounting the motor or pump housing. Rigid hubs with clearance-fit bores allow for slide-on, bolt-together installation. All types and styles are available in either AISI 1045 steel or stainless steel for broad application across water, power generation, refinery, and other industries.

Presetting solutions

Command Tooling Systems' Command Presetters offer improved productivity and streamlined setups for machining. Features include intuitive controls and software, an ergonomic design, and the ability to preset offline. A variety of models, all of which offer a standard 50 taper spindle housed by a precision bearing, are available to fit specific applications. Vision and Focus models have platform cube sizes ranging from 9 x 14 in (229 x 356 mm) to 14 x 18 in (356 x 457 mm), while Urma Digiset 2's cube size is 12 x 15.75 in (305 x 400 mm). Absolute or incremental measures can be made on all models, and data can be transferred in ASCII format. LCD and LED controls are available, with resolution down to 0.00005 in (0.001 mm) on the Vision and Focus models.
