Vickers' experience in supplying load-sensing systems in diverse markets such as agricultural tractors, forestry vehicles, and drilling equipment provides understanding of the need for compact, reliable, and effective load control. Its EPV (Electro Proportional Valve) Valvistor Series provides a new approach to traditional load control problems. Through a unique poppet design that incorporates hydraulic feedback, EPV Series valves provide low cost, repeatable, and high dynamic performance, while simplifying inner loop feedback control requirements. This new technology is provided by the "hydraulic transistor" or poppet in which small flows control much larger flows in the same manner as an "electronic transistor" controls current. The EPV16 valve is available with four flow ranges from 40-160 L/min (10-40 gal/min) and pressures up to 27.6 MPa (4000 psi) (NFPA rated). Application opportunities abound in the paving, industrial truck, crane, agricultural machinery, and other mobile vehicle and industrial machinery markets in which precise control of velocity or position is desirable.
