Oldham couplings
Paradrive oldham couplings from Ruland are used for motion-control applications. The couplings are comprised of two aluminum hubs with drive tenons that mate with a floating center member. This design allows for easy sliding to accommodate misalignment. The replaceable center disks are available in two materials to suit different applications. Nylon disks dampen vib-rations and reduce noise; acetal disks are designed for precision applications. The couplings accommodate angular and axial misalignment and are useful in applications where parallel misalignment is a problem.

Tire inflator
The 89MD automatic tire inflator from Haltec Corp. simplifies the inflation and deflation process while improving tire-inflation accuracy. The operator sets the desired pressure number on the inflator and connects the hose to the tire valve, then the unit performs the inflation. The device also deflates to the correct pressure if the tire is over inflated.

Cast-iron gear pumps
The Sauer-Danfoss cast-iron gear pumps are in production on an agricultural tractor and skid steer loader. The range includes nine displacements from 26 to 63 cm3/rev (1.6 to 3.8 in3/rev) and any combination of three drive shaft options, two part options, and two mounting flanges. They will also be available as solo and tandem pump options with the use of flow control covers, including load-sensing where required.

Proportional fan drive
The ECI Proportional Fan Drive from Horton has a two-speed design that reduces noise, drains less power, and heats or cools cabs better than traditional direct fan drives. The intelligent ICI switches between eddy-current (low speed) and electric (high speed) operation to deliver the exact cooling an engine needs. The device is suited for cooling agricultural and construction equipment, skid steer loaders, and other off-road machinery without ram air.

Self-powered tachometer
ENM Co. Model PT14 is a self-powered digital tachometer/maintenance on-time hour meter for all types of gasoline engines. True engine rpm to 48,000 and actual running time to 9999.9 h are logged on an LCD in this compact unit. A 35,000-h, continuous running, internal lithium battery powers the device. The operation of the unit is actuated by a shielded lead wire wrapped around a spark plug wire on the engine block.
