Husqvarna says its E-Tech technology is a breakthrough in two-stroke engine design. The concept uses a combination of features to reduce harmful exhaust emissions and the smoke and odor associated with them. It accomplishes this without sacrificing the fuel economy, high power, low noise, and durability associated with Husqvarna products.

The company's Power CAT muffler is the only catalytic muffler available on a two-stroke powered, handheld product in the United States. The large-volume muffler keeps noise low and reduces certain harmful emissions. The crankshaft's design effectively "sweeps" the fuel/air mixture into the combustion chamber for optimum power and efficiency.
