What's New at CONEXPO-CONAGG

This year, the SAE International Off-Highway Congress will co-locate its technical sessions with CONEXPO-CON/AGG—North America's largest gathering place for the construction and construction-materials industries. And for the first time, IFPE will be on hand in 2002 to feature the latest components; power-transmission systems; and hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical power controls. The following pages showcase some of the many technologies that will be displayed at this year's event, scheduled March 19-23 in Las Vegas, NV.

Hydraulic winch

The PACCAR Winch Division is introducing the Carco Model H70 tractor-mounted, hydraulically operated winch for recovery applications. The winch is designed for tractors from 123-149 kW (165-200 hp) and accommodates both low- and high-pressure systems. Load is controlled with a single lever. Model H70 offers fewer service parts and reduced maintenance requirements compared to a PTO-driven winch.

Oil-purification system

By Pass oil cleaners from Triple R extend the life of oil and hydraulic components by as much as 10 times, eliminating unscheduled downtime and failures. Mounted on machinery using hydraulic-system pressure, the BU-Series units maintain oil more than five grades cleaner than new fluids. Portable and self-equipped units will be on display.

Vinyl flange covers

Caplugs has added three new flange protection series' to its line of dip-molded vinyl flange covers. The VF series provides a snug fit for flanged and beaded tubes and are easy to apply. The VAS series flange covers fit American Standard Association and military sizes. The VSR series snaps into place to protect the flanged surface. All of the new covers have a high-gloss finish with a smooth, flat top and can be used without degradation in applications exposed to up to 150°C (300°F).

Thermal circuit protectors

Carling Technologies, Inc. has released a new line of thermal circuit protectors. The CLB and CMB Series were designed for transportation, marine, telecommunications, and power-supply applications. Both series' offer ac/dc ratings to 40 A, a choice of snap-in or threaded mount, six termination options, and a choice of metal or plastic bushing construction. They are UL, CUL, and TUV certified and have an operating temperature range from -10 to +60°C (14 to 140°F).

Aluminum oil coolers

Blissfield Manufacturing's aluminum hydraulic-oil coolers can be used in skid steers, mini-excavators, compact wheel loaders, forklifts, tractors, and forestry equipment. The fins can be cleaned with high-pressure air or water without bending. The aluminum construction allows improved cooling capacity in a smaller package, reduced weight, a 3450-kPa (500-psi) working pressure, and a 10,340-kPa (1500-psi) burst-pressure rating. The cooler was impulse-pressure, life-cycle tested for over three million cycles.
