Gery J. Kissel is Engineering Specialist, Global Battery Systems Engineering with General Motors. His work with GM for the past 15 years has all related to the development of technology and applications for hybrid, electric, and fuel cell vehicles. Gery is a high and intermediate voltage safety subject matter expert and, in his current position, he is responsible for plug-in vehicle codes, standards, and infrastructure. Gery is active in the GM mentoring program, mentoring college engineering co-op students and new full-time GM engineers. He is very active on SAE Standards Committees including Task Force Lead for J1772 - Electric Vehicle Conductive Charge Coupler and Task Force Co-Lead, J2894 - Vehicle On-Board Charger Power Quality, member of the Fuel Cell Standards Committee, Fuel Cell Safety Workgroup and the Hybrid Committee and former Task Force Lead for J1776 - Recommended Practice for Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicle Battery Systems Crash Integrity Testing.He is also affiliated with the Grid Interaction Technical Team, National Electric Transportation Infrastructure Working Council, and National Fire Protection Association. Prior to joining GM, Gery worked for as a Project Engineer for VECTRA, and a Design Release Engineer for Masotech and Rapid Design Service. Gery is a recipient of the SAE Technical Standards Board Outstanding Contribution Award. He has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an M.S. degree in Engineering Science from Purdue University.

Registration for this live webinar is available on a per-person basis, similar to purchasing a seat in a classroom. Participants attend an online session from work or home; anywhere with a PC with internet access (at least 56K) and a telephone. The fee includes one connection to the two hour conference call (toll free telephone number provided for U.S. and select countries*) and assigned personal ID number; one connection to SAE's online training center (via WebEx); and access to a secure course in the SAE Learning Center that contains the webinar presentations, class session recordings, supplemental materials, and assignments.
Registrations will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. the day before the start of the webinar, but early registration is encouraged to allow for pre-course set-up and instructions.

Can't attend on the date/time above? The presentation will be recorded and made available for 30 days to those who are registered, regardless of availability for the live session. If you still need to cancel, transfer to a future offering, or designate a substitute, a full refund is issued if you notify SAE at least 14 days prior to the webinar start date. If less than 14 days prior, please contact SAE Customer Service to discuss options*.
