This program calculates the predicted hardenability for wrought steel compositions within the limits listed in J406 Change 21. Carbon and alloy multiplying factors and the correlation of boron factor with carbon and alloy content are based on the analysis of thousands of heats of boron and non-boron steels consisting of 1500; 4100; 5000; and 8600 series grades.
