OSCAR H-Point Machine

The H-point is used as a key reference point in seated occupant location, seating package configurations, EPA volumes and crash test positioning. The OSCAR H-point machine provides the physical representation of this reference point and is a vital element for design, auditing and benchmarking of seating and interior packages. The OSCAR machine is used in conjunction with J 826 rev. Nov. 2008 and is currently referenced in FMVSS regulations and ISO standards, making it the required design and auditing tool for current production.

HPM II H-Point Machine

The H-point is used as a key reference point in seated occupant location, seating package configurations, EPA volumes and crash test positioning. The HPM II H-point machine provides the physical representation of this reference point and is a vital element for design, auditing and benchmarking of seating and interior packages.

The HPM II machine is used in conjunction with J 4002 rev. Jan. 2010, which includes many design changes and enhancements over the OSCAR H-Point machine. This new design includes; reformed shells for a consistent and reliable fit in bucket seats, articulating back for lumber support measurement, ability to measure H-point without use of leg and better design for ease of installation. Since the HPM II is not yet reference in the FMVSS or ISO standards it is primarily used in advance design applications.

SAE provides comprehensive support for the HPM II machine including, calibration, spare parts and maintenance. Also available for the HPM II is a CAD compatible design tool and a custom fit storage/shipping cart.

This heavy-duty steel case has a front open swing door, proving a place for safe storage and easy access to OSCAR.
