Hybrid III Dummy Products
This disk contains the computer file form of the Two-Dimensional Template, August 3, 1993 revision, for the Hybrid II 50th Percentile Adult Male Dummy, The file is in an I.G.E.S. format that can be imported into many CAD packages.
The template shows the dummy in a seated posture. The outside contour of the upper torso, neck and head is at the midsagittal plane of the dummy. The contour of the pelvis and legs is at a plane parallel to the midsagittal plane passing through the centerline of the leg. The contour of the head was digitized from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Master Pattern. The dummy contours were obtained by digitizing a dummy. The shoe contour was digitized from a shoe made from military specifications.
The template contains other features such as proper joint locations, articulation angle markings, center of gravity locations for the body segments and the location of several bone structures.
This template does NOT include arms or hinge points for the neck. These items will be included in future upgrades of the template if there is sufficient interest and if adequate information relative to the location of the neck pivot(s) becomes available.
