Automated Diagnostic System for Engine Cylinder-Piston Group

2020-09-15
2020-01-2022
The work is aimed at increasing the reliability, accuracy, information content and depth of the process of diagnosing the cylinder-piston engine group. For this, an automated diagnostic system has been developed, which includes a system unit with a monitor, special software for measuring and processing information, a measuring analog-to-digital module, adapters for connecting to the engine. The diagnostic system allows you to record the change in pressure of the cylinder for every degree of rotation of the crankshaft with an error that does not exceed 1.7%. Measurements are performed in test mode, when the crankshaft of the engine is scrolled with a starter, and strain gauges are screwed in place of spark plugs. The measurement results are presented in the form of diagrams, text and digital values. The system also allows you to save, reproduce and transmit diagnostic information in digital, graphic and text form.

2018-01-0024
Remote monitoring is the most important stage in controlling the technical condition of a modern vehicle under operating conditions. Remote control of the technical condition involves using V2I systems in order to form and apply individual maintenance and repair systems. V2I information model developed in the article is characterized by vehicle digital field, limited by regulatory rules, with means for technical condition parameters monitoring and components of infrastructure for each vehicle monitoring. The article describes the peculiarities of V2I information system and the process of monitoring and evaluating the vehicle technical condition under operating conditions with the possibility of forecasting. The monitoring information system is designed to ensure the vehicle efficient operation under non-stationary operating conditions, with continuous consideration of information from road and transport infrastructure.

Improving the Process of Vehicle Units Diagnosis by Applying Harmonic Analysis to the Processing of Discrete Signals

2018-09-10
2018-01-1774
The article discusses the features of designing a diagnostic system in which harmonic analysis is used to improve the quality of diagnostic information processing. The cyclic analog signal coming from the sensor and containing the diagnostic information is converted into a discrete signal. Accumulation of diagnostic information processed by equipment is carried out in the form of discrete signals. The processing and analysis of the obtained diagnostic information is carried out by applying harmonic analysis. Periodic processes of operation of vehicle units are associated with the occurrence of noise and vibration having a different frequency but related to the same node. A feature of the presented system is that it uses a contactless method of obtaining diagnostic information about the operation of vehicle units. The system calculates the speed of the node, measures the noise level and calculates the level of vibration that occurs during its operation.

Evaluation of the Powertrain Condition Based on the Car Acceleration and Coasting Data

2018-09-10
2018-01-1771
Diagnosis of the car is a necessary means for early detection of developing malfunctions. A technique for diagnosing on a short road based on the acceleration in the second and third gears and coasting from 50 or 40 to 20 km/h is proposed. The results should be compared with the reference values calculated, taking into consideration the speed rolling resistance dependence, described by the square trinomial, the speed air resistance dependence with the variable exponent, the losses of the transmission idling mode and the progressive total resistances decrease at speeds below 25 km/h. The general speed dependence of the total resistance is described by a sixth-degree polynomial but not the second-degree one, as many researchers believe. The experimental check was performed on a subcompact sedan with 1.6 atmo engine. Weight of 1370 kg. First class road with an average rise of 0.0182, asphalt in good condition. There was no wind.
