Measurement Uncertainty and Consumer Risk

2020-02-03
CURRENT
AIR6553
This document addresses measurement uncertainty and consumer risk as they relate to AS8879 thread inspection. It describes the rationale, theory and methodology used to generate the technical content of the AS5870. The document describes how to calculate measurement consumer risk. It documents all of the calculation methods which industry employs today to calculate what is commonly called measurement uncertainty (Appendices A, B, C, D, E and F). These, in turn, are used to calculate measurement uncertainty ratios which are required inputs to calculate measurement consumer risk. Users of this document can apply the information described herein for the evaluation of the capability of their measurements based on the measurement consumer risk. It involves the analysis of the measurement (product) distribution and biases of both the product and measurement system distributions. It protects the consumer from the worst case distribution results.

SHAFT NUT AND KEYWASHER INSTALLATION DIMENSIONS FOR

1979-05-01
HISTORICAL
AS1495
The purpose of this standard is to provide installation dimensions for shaft nuts and their companion keywasher. The standard deals specifically with the design shown on MS9951 and MS9952 but is also suitable for parts which are dimensionally equivalent.

AREAS FOR CALCULATING STRESS OR LOAD VALUES FOR METRIC MJ EXTERNALLY THREADED FASTENERS

2002-07-23
CURRENT
AS1520
Areas for the standard metric series of thread diameter-pitch combinations for aerospace externally threaded fasteners are established for the following conditions: a) Area for ultimate shear stress or load in unthreaded shank. b) Area for ultimate tensile stress or load in thread. c) Area for stress durability test load in thread. d) Area for stress-rupture test load at elevated temperature. e) Area for tension-tension fatigue test load.

Modules and Basic Racks of Metric Spur and Helical Gears

2018-09-11
CURRENT
AS1560B
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the standard modules for aerospace metric involute gear teeth and establishes the tooth dimensions of aerospace metric involute gear teeth in terms of the conjugate rack type cutter whose counterpart reference profile is called the basic rack profile of the generated gear, having the tooth dimensions expressed in terms proportional to the module.
