HISTORICAL
AS4372A
This document covers the requirements for insulated, single-conductor, electric wires with tin-coated, silver-coated, or nickel-coated conductors of copper or copper alloy as specified in the applicable performance sheet (see Appendix A for sample). It provides general performance requirements, ratings, and information for various characteristics of insulated wire systems used in aerospace applications. Numerical test requirements, or parameters, were originally developed using either english or metric units. The original, primary, units are shown first with the secondary (converted) units in parentheses. Secondary units are listed for not information only and are not to be considered requirements. Wire will be assigned a level of performance for many requirements set forth in this standard. These performance levels, in addition to numerical test results, shall be listed in the applicable performance sheet.

Verification of New Conductor Alloys for AS29606 Conductors Qualification

2017-11-15
CURRENT
AS6324
AS6324 specifies the requirements for comparative testing of new copper and copper alloy conductors to AS29606 qualified conductors. AS29606 approved conductors are used for the construction of insulated wire defined in SAE Aerospace wire standards (i.e., AS22759, AS81044, etc.). AS6324 defines testing which meets or exceeds the minimum test requirements of AS29606 and AS22759 and its detailed specification sheets.

Wire, Electrical, Solderless Wrap, Insulated and Uninsulated, General Specification For

2011-07-18
CURRENT
AS81822A
This specification covers both insulated and uninsulated solid conductor wire, designed for solderless wrap connections in electrical and electronic devices and equipment. The terminations of the wire are intended to be made with hand or automatic tools which wrap the wire, under tension, around terminal pins (commonly called wrapposts) to form solderless wrapped connections.

Relative Thermal Life and Temperature Index

1994-10-01
HISTORICAL
AS4851
This test method provides performance data on candidate insulation systems as a function of time and temperature. These data give engineering information on the wire insulation candidate relative to the performance of materials already in use with a backlog of experience. These tests expose candidate insulation systems to a wide range of temperatures for short and long periods of time, while measuring the degradation of its physical properties. For aerospace use, end-point proof tests include mandrel bend, water soak, and dielectric integrity.
