Baja Rochester Results Recap

The Baja SAE season wrapped on June 6-9 in Rochester, NY with the third competition hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). 90 teams arrived at RIT's campus on June 6-7 for Team Registration, Briggs & Stratton Governor Setting Checks, Honda Technical Inspections, Brake Checks, and Design Presentations & Finals.

Saturday kicked with teams moving into Hogback Hill Motorsports Track for Dynamic Day. The organizing committee built four challenging courses including the PTC Acceleration Track, Cummins Hill Climb Event, Magna Maneuverability Course, and Suspension & Traction course.  A week’s worth of rain added to the difficulty level, but teams powered through.  Dynamic Event Winners were:

On Sunday teams prepared for the Endurance Race. Like Dynamic Day, the 1.5 mile course proved to be muddy and challenging. Spectators watching the four hour endurance race from the grandstands were treated to a photo finish, with University of Michigan - Ann Arbor losing the lead to University of Louisville in the last turn.

Following the Honda Endurance Race, teams headed back to RIT’s campus for an Awards Banquet. Teams cleaned up from the muddy endurance race, and prepared to hear the results.
