Eight Honored with SAE International Ralph R. Teetor Education Award

WARRENDALE, Pa., Aug. 15, 2012 - SAE International presented eight engineering professors with the Ralph R. Teetor Education Award during the SAE 2012 World Congress held in Detroit.

This award, established in 1963, recognizes and honors exemplary young educators who are successfully preparing engineers to meet the challenges that face society. The award is named after former SAE president, Ralph R. Teetor, who firmly believed that engineering educators are the most effective link between engineering students and their future careers.

Those receiving awards included:

  • Shorya Awtar, Assistant Professor,Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann
  • Arbor Jeremy S. Daily, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Tulsa
  • Christopher D. Depcik, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering,University of Kansas
  • Marcis Jansons, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Wayne State University
  • Heejung Jung, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of California Riverside
  • Scott Miers, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Michigan Tech University
  • Junmin Wang, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Ohio State University
  • Jingzhou (James) Yang, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Texas Tech University
