2013 Registration for FSAE Michigan, FSAE Lincoln and FSAE Electric

WARRENDALE, Pa., Aug. 22, 2012 -

The 2013 Formula SAE series in North America will consist of 3 separate, but related, competitions, 2 for IC vehicles: FSAE Michigan and FSAE Lincoln and 1 for battery electric vehicles: FSAE Electric.  FSAE Electric will be held simultaneously with FSAE Lincoln and the teams and vehicles at both competitions will be intermixed for most of the activities and scored events.

FSAE Michigan is capped at 120 teams, FSAE Lincoln is capped at 80 teams and FSAE Electric is capped at 20 teams.   All three competitions will have a wait list.  The 2013 registration fee is $2,050 for all entries.   Teams that are waitlisted pay the registration fee only if they advance off the waitlist.

Registration for FSAE Michigan and FSAE Lincoln will follow our traditional 1 month lock-out period.  Once your team registers for either IC competition the team cannot register for the second IC competition for 1 month.  There is no lock out period or other registration restrictions for FSAE Electric.   Schools may register an IC team for either Michigan or Lincoln and an EV team for FSAE Electric as soon as registration opens.

Registration opens online at 10:00 am EDT, Monday, October 1, 2012 and closes at 11:59 pm, Monday, December 17, 2012 or sooner on an individual competition basis when the registration limit is reached.  Teams that have earned early registration slots based on their 2012 competition results will be contacted by SAE staff.

We strongly recommend that teams – especially rookie teams – read and understand the registration procedures in the FSAE Rules and on the FSAE website before trying to register online.   Registration may sell out quickly and teams need to be prepared.
