AVL Conference - held in Cooperation with SAE International - Delves into Strategies and Technologies for Commercial Vehicles
WARRENDALE, Pa., April 1, 2013 -
The 7th Annual AVL International Commercial Powertrain Conference (ICPC) will be held May 22-23, at the Helmut-List-Halle in Graz, Austria. The event is organized by AVL, with cooperation from SAE International.
For more than 10 years, the International Commercial Powertrain Conference (ICPC) has been a meeting for manufacturers of trucks, tractors and construction equipment – all of which employ the same drive technology and are confronted with the very same environmental requirements. AVL has organized this conference to provide the opportunity to discuss possible synergies.
The burning issue all three industries face is the demand to reduce carbon emissions. In their keynote addresses, the following top managers will be outlining the situation today and possible strategies for the future: Sam Burman, ASHOK Leyland (trucks), Martin Richenhagen, AGCO (tractors) and Werner Seifried, LIEBHERR (construction equipment). The following technical sessions will involve two days of presentations featuring solution approaches and new technologies, along with in-depth discussions. It is becoming evident that electrification and hybrid technology is increasingly being used in commercial vehicle applications.
