SAE International's AEI Magazine Sponsors Henkel Fore A Cause Golf Outing which Benefits Detroit's Local Schools

WARRENDALE, Pa., July 24, 2013 - SAE International’s magazine Automotive Engineering International (AEI) will sponsor the “Henkel Fore A Cause” Golf Outing, which will take place Monday, August 12 at Pine Knob Golf Course in Clarkston, Michigan.

This will be Henkel’s 9th annual golf outing that benefits Cornerstone Schools, a growing, independent education system that is striving to provide an in-depth and consistent education for youth in Detroit, Mich.

This year’s goal is to raise $50,000 in scholarships, which will allow 20 children to enroll at Cornerstone for the upcoming school year. The school has been a bright spot in the education system in Detroit, with a remarkable 95 percent of students graduating high school and 91 percent continuing on to higher education. Cornerstone Schools’ dedication to providing this level of education, while instilling good character within the students, has resulted in it being ranked a high performing school by Excellent Schools Detroit and being featured by CNN as “One School That Gets It Right.”

AEI has proudly agreed to support the Henkel Fore A Cause as a Henkel Partner. The city of Detroit is held in special regard at SAE International with strong roots reaching back almost a century. In fact, the SAE foundation has a long history of supporting children through the education system with programs such as A World in Motion® and the Collegiate Design Series™.  Scott Sward, Director of Sales and Marketing for SAE International, said, “When this opportunity arose, it seemed like a perfect fit.  Automotive Engineering International is delighted to team with Henkel and support their efforts on behalf of Cornerstone Schools.”
