John Yurtin Named SAE International Fellow

 

WARRENDALE, Pa. (August 7, 2013) – SAE International announced that John Yurtin was elected as a 2012-2013 SAE Fellow. Yurtin and the other Fellow inductees were recognized during ceremonies at the SAE 2013 World Congress.

 

Yurtin is a product specialist with Delphi Connection Systems in Warren, Ohio. Yurtin has more than 46 years of experience in components and inter-connect technology development. He is the major technical resource for Delphi's global customers and leads an activity of communicating connection system technology to those customers, personnel and organizations.

His responsibilities also include global product management of Data Connectivity Systems. The holder of 16 patents, Yurtin is a member of the Delphi Innovation Hall of Fame, and is a major Delphi Packard Electric representative to other companies.

Yurtin is a key participant in the standards industry, particularly with SAE, USCAR, IEEE, 1394TA and ISO, for which he is the U.S. representative on several ISO committees as well as chairman of the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO.

SAE Fellow is the highest grade of membership bestowed by SAE International. It recognizes outstanding engineering, scientific and leadership accomplishments by an individual that have resulted in meaningful advances in automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle technologies. The program, established in 1975, recognizes an average of 20 recipients worldwide for this honor each year.
