Porsche Focus - Challenges When Racing a Street Vehicle
SAE Chicago Section - Porsche Focus - Challenges When Racing a Street Vehicle
With a long history in advancing the development of performance vehicles - the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Chicago Section is delighted to partner with 928 Motorsports of Horicon, Wisconsin and Midwest Eurosport of Bensenville, Illinois to present an evening around Porsche and performance vehicles.
Our hosts at Midwest Eurosport are widely known to Porsche enthusiasts for their expertise in both street and racing activities as well as for their interest and ability to tackle special projects.
Our presenter from 928 Motorsports, Carl Fausett, is an SAE member and a hands-on person who has set numerous performance records at Bonneville, Pikes Peak, and other venues in Porsche 928 vehicles. His presentation - Challenges When Racing a Street Vehicle will cover such topics as: chassis flexing, braking, suspension and steering - as well as the always important engine. As someone with fundamental training in and understanding of engineering - but with the practical experience of real world requirements - his insight is unique and this will be the first time he will be sharing much of this information with a large audience.
Also on sight will be a number of vehicles for viewing, including the 928 Motorsports Land Speed Record holding Porsche 928, and around which there will certainly an opportunity for lively discussion of their respective characteristics and performance development.
