Chevy Volt Performance
Program Overview
First on the program will be a presentation of the Chevy Volt by Al Shadbourne, a retired Garrett (now Honeywell) Turbo engineer. Al will show his Chevy Volt and comment informally on his perspective as an EV owner.
As an added attraction to the program, the SAE student chapter at CSULB will present a display of several student-built competitive race cars. Students will be on hand to describe their vehicles in Room ET-15.
At 07:00 p.m., Ronald Young, a General Motors engineer, will present an overview of Chevy Volt design and performance with emphasis on propulsion system electrical components. The presentation will last 35 to 40 minutes and will be followed by a short Q&A session. Dave Barthmuss and Shad Balch from the General Motors Environment & Energy Policy and Communications Group in Detroit will be available to respond to questions. The Q&A session should adjourn by 8 p.m.
Light refreshments, including sandwiches, will be provided by SAE. This event is free.
