Chassis and Suspension Structural Challenges
(Session Code: CV204)

Room 52/53  3:25 p.m.

The first half of this session presents tire modeling, simulation, design, and test technology as developed for and applied to heavy vehicles. The application domains cover highway, military, agriculture, mining, and construction equipment. Topics include tire mechanics, tire-vehicle dynamics, tire noise, treadwear, rolling resistance, fatigue, durability/reliability, design, test, and advances in tire manufacturing processes. The second half of this session will be a moderated discussion addressing how existing and new government standards will affect commercial truck tires. This includes a discussion on CSA, SmartWay, and commercial vehicle stopping distance regulations.
