SAE 2013 Government/Industry Meeting

Technical Session Schedule

Wednesday, January 30

Biofuels
(Session Code: G206)

Room 146 B  2:30 p.m.

This session will explore advanced and cellulosic bio-fuels and try to answer some of the pertinent questions: Does E15 get us to EISA compliance?; How far have we moved the blend wall at this point? Where do we look next in terms of satisfying biofuels utilization targets? Possibly a policy discussion on pros and cons of federal mandates vs. market demand. Can there be an advanced biofuels to substitute for diesel fuel in large volumes, and if so, what’s that going to be? Is butanol going to enter the market in gasoline blends? Why aren’t consumer choosing E85 for their FFV’s where it’s available and its regulatory and practical hurdles for commercialization factors that are supporting or impeding the development of second generation biofuels? This session may be presented in a panel format to address these questions.
