Alvaro Masias is a Research Engineer in Ford Motor Company's Energy Storage Research & Strategy Department and has worked on the research and development of lithium ion batteries since 2002. He is a member and Project Manager of the United States Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC) Technical Advisory Committee. Mr. Masias has organized the Advanced Battery Technology session at the Society of Automotive Engineer's (SAE) World Congress for the past four years and is a frequent contributor to various SAE Battery standards. He is Chairman of the Electrochemical Society (ECS) Individual Membership Committee and past Chairman of the ECS Detroit Section. Mr. Masias has earned engineering degrees from the California Institute of Technology and the University of Michigan.
