Dr. Martin Pischinger
Vice President, Electronics / Controls
FEV, Inc. Dr. Martin Pischinger is Vice President of Electronics and Controls for FEV, Inc., and based at its North American Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Dr. Pischinger is responsible for FEV’s U.S. electronics business, including embedded software development. He received his undergraduate and doctorate degrees in engineering from the RWTH Aachen University in Germany. While working on his doctorate, he served as a project engineer at FEV GmbH. Upon receiving his degree, he became the head of the FEV GmbH “Electromechanical Valve Train” Group, and later went on to work with Engine and Chassis Development and Active Front Steering for BMW in Munich, Germany. Dr. Pischinger returned to FEV GmbH as Vice President of Electrical Engineering in 2005, where his group saw five-fold growth under his direction by 2011, and expanded its capabilities to perform turnkey series production projects such as vehicle integration and full control unit development. In addition to conventional vehicle projects, Dr. Pischinger’s business unit carried out many projects with hybrid and electric vehicles including the development of lithium-ion battery packs. Tasked with optimizing FEV’s worldwide electronics operations, Dr. Pischinger moved to FEV, Inc. in May 2011and began the process of growing FEV’s electronics business in the US. His business unit “Electronics and Controls” in the US has grown significantly and, today, is capable of providing a portfolio of engineering services that is similar to the German business unit, including an extension into Infotainment and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
