Changing Emission Strategies for Improved Reliability and Performance

Kirby has over 20 years of success driving the design and rollout of the next-generation of complex systems and products for the automotive, energy, and oil & gas industries. His background includes senior product engineering leadership roles at Navistar and Kansas State University where he launched a new business unit within the university to develop emission-reduction products for the natural gas industry. That effort led to three patents, a technical book publication, and over 160 journal papers, technical reports, and conference proceedings. As a senior product engineering leader at Navistar, he revamped and integrated the cooling system, exhaust system, and HVAC organization, restructured the aftertreatment organization to integrate with the chassis teams, increased the on-time delivery rate to nearly 100%, reduced warranty by more than 50%, and delivered millions in annual cost savings. Kirby holds PhD, MS and BS Degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
