From Hand Lay-Up to Automated Fibre Placement - AFP for a Medium Sized H/C Sandwich Bottom Shell Demonstrator


After graduation in 2005 as Dipl.-Ing (FH) of automotive engineering at University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg Lars Wolters started career as development engineer at ikarus-solutions GmbH in the field of composite design for aerospace and motorsport application as well as project management. In 2008 he joined Airbus Cimpa, extended his activities in project management and engaged in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) with focus on composite design methods and processes for Airbus A350 program and research projects. In 2011 he was nominated at Airbus Helicopters as project manager of the multi-annual technology project HELIPLACE with its scope of researching automated fibre placement (AFP) technology for complex helicopter sandwich structures.
