Overview
G-17 has the responsibility and authority to develop standards to facilitate human factors assessment for equipment design.
For this committee, human modeling technology is intended to:
- Improve design quality with respect to human factors
- Support the definition of design requirements
- Demonstrate physical interaction between the human and the system
- Identify risks and costs associated with the man-in-the-loop
Activities beyond the scope of this committee include:
- Modeling and simulation independent of the human
- Simulation strictly intended for non-engineering uses (e.g., training and entertainment)
