Overview
The Total Vehicle Steering Committee and its committees have the responsibility to initiate, develop, review and approve the SAE Technical Reports (Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports) related to medium and heavy duty trucks and buses with GVWRs greater than 10,000 lbs., and their unique components and accessories. Vehicles to be addressed include vans, utility vehicles, trucks, truck tractor combinations, trailers and buses. This is to be done on behalf of the SAE Truck-Bus Council, the Technical Standards Board, and to serve the best interests of the public.The Total Vehicle Steering Committee provides the support, review, and approval of the work of its committees.The committees organized under the Total Vehicle Steering Committee are the following: Aerodynamics and Fuel Economy, Corrosion, Coupling & Interchangeability, Noise, Vibration and Handling, Tire, Tire Pressure Management Systems and Vehicle Characterization.
