Overview
DSRC Traffic Information is a Subcommittee of the Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) Technical Committee which reports to the Vehicle Engineering Systems Group of the Motor Vehicle Council. The Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE Message Set Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports for use with short-to-medium-range wireless communication protocols specifically designed for road vehicle use. The committee also: - coordinates subcommittee efforts to eliminate duplication and share areas of overlap, - acts as a liaison to the other organizations involved in the DSRC effort, - helps identify and perhaps maintain common data dictionary items, and - organizes the initial effort of gathering "use cases" and distributes them to the subcommittees, defining work boundaries. The following subcommittees have been developed under the committee's scope: Digital Map, Message Framework, Vehicle Safety, Public Safety, Vehicle Interface Methodology
