Overview
The Electromagnetic Immunity (EMI) Task Force is part of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Standards Committee that reports to the Electrical Systems Group of the Motor Vehicle Council. The Task Force is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports related to the technology of electrical/electronic system electromagnetic immunity and the associated processes, test methods and limits. Complete vehicles, devices (as defined in SAE J551-1) and components (as defined in SAE J1113-1) are included in the scope. Vehicles include internal combustion, electric & Hybrid driven surface vehicles, vehicles with other propulsion methods and boats (under 15 m in length), but exclude trains and trolleys. Participants in the Electromagnetic Immunity (EMI) Task Force include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government, and other interested parties.
