The Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) Task Force is part of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Standards Committee that reports to the Electrical Systems Group of the Motor Vehicle Council.
The Task Force is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports related to the technology of electrical/electronic system electromagnetic radiation and the associated processes, test methods and limits with particular attention given to the protection of radio reception.
Complete vehicles, devices (as defined in SAE J551-1) and components are included in the scope. Vehicles include internal combustion and electric driven surface vehicles and boats (under 15 m in length), but exclude trains and trolleys.
Participants in the Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) Task Force include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government, and other interested parties.
