Overview
The SAE Electrical Equipment for Automotive Industrial Machinery Committee develops HS-1738, a basic standard incorporating elements of IEC 60204-1, NFPA 79, and additional automotive requirements. It is formatted in a manner that will increase the knowledge and understanding of the basic global requirements while highlighting the reasons for the Automotive Industry supplements and differences in National requirements.
The 2002-2005 committee continued the harmonization effort to deliver a revised document that can be used for the consistency of design as well as the purchasing and use of electrical industrial machinery and equipment for the global market. Portions of the referenced documents will be altered or deleted due to evolving technology and accepted automotive industrial practices.
