Overview
The Test Methods and Equipment Standards Committee is part of the Vehicle Engineering Systems Group that reports to the Motor Vehicle Council (MVC). The Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports related to standardized laboratory tests, test methods, performance requirements and equipment, applicable to many of the lighting devices and components covered by SAE Recommended Practices and Standards for passenger cars, light truck, vans and multipurpose passenger vehicles 2032 mm or less in overall width.

Participants in the SAE Test Methods and Equipment Standards Committee include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government, and other interested parties.
