Overview
The Manual Transmission Transaxle Standards Committee reports to the Powertrain Systems Group of the Motor Vehicle Council. The Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports related to:
¿ broad issues affecting both the users and producers of manual transmissions and transaxles used in passenger and light duty truck vehicles
¿ sub-system and component supplier issues and interfaces
¿ use of new technology through the creation and employment of performance-based SAE practices
¿ training of engineers through the creation of design handbook and technical papers
Participants in the SAE Manual Transmission Transaxle Standards Committee include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government, and other interested parties.
